The Brazilian Antonio Pezão closely followed the duel between his compatriot Fabricio Werdum e alistair overeem, last Saturday, when he met his opponent in the semifinals of the Strikeforce heavyweight GP. After learning that he will face the Dutch fighter, Pezão put aside his humility and exuded confidence in the press conference after the event.
“I respect Overeem, but I will train hard to face him. I know I can knock this guy out. Believe me, I can win standing up or on the ground”, analyzed Pezão, who reaffirmed his promise to win the GP.
“I already said before, if I beat Fedor I would win this tournament. I promised my fans, I promised my family… I will win this tournament”, concluded the Brazilian.
If he manages to overcome Overeem, in a match with no official date yet, Pezão will face the winner of the duel between North American Josh Barnett and Russian Sergei Kharitonov.
