The Brazilian Yuri “Marajó” will have to modify his plans for his debut in Ultimate. Initially scheduled to face North American Mackens Semerzier at UFC Rio, the featherweight will now face the Canadian Antonio “Pato” Carvalho in the edition scheduled for August 27th at the HSBC Arena, located in Barra da Tijuca.
“Pato” has a record of 13 wins and four losses, arriving in the UFC with a three-fight unbeaten record in his career. With a stint in Shooto, the Canadian was in action last Friday (10), when he beat North American Douglas Evans, by unanimous decision of the judges, in the Scoring Fighting Series.
In addition to the fight involving “Marajó”, UFC Rio also has ten other fights on its card. The night's main attraction will be the fight for the event's middleweight belt, where the current champion Anderson Silva will put his belt on the line against the Japanese Yushin Okami seeking to avenge the defeat suffered in 2006 at Rumble on the Rock 8.
