Former champion 'invites' Aldo to fight at Bellator

Patricio Pitbull says that 'not only UFC lives MMA' and is awaiting a positive response from his compatriot

The strained relationship between José Aldo and the UFC has already started to provoke reactions in the MMA market. Former Bellator champion, Patrick Pitbull invited his compatriot to the second largest organization on the planet and proposed a fight between them.

Aldo was irritated with the UFC after the fight between Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight belt. The Brazilian, interim featherweight champion, wanted to have a rematch with the Irishman next, but saw his plans frustrated.

For this reason, Aldo even said that he would like to see his contract with the UFC terminated, as he would no longer be interested in competing in professional MMA. Pitbull, on the other hand, saw the episode as an opportunity to try to “dig” a duel with Aldo.

“MMA isn’t just about UFC. I'm waiting for you”, published the Brazilian, with a montage of a poster for the supposed duel.

Pitbull, 29, is a former Bellator featherweight champion, with victories over the likes of Pat Curran, Daniel Straus, Diego Nunes and Wilson reis. However, he lost the belt to the same Straus in November last year.
