After the UFC made it official that Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez will face each other at UFC 205, in New York, on November 12th, in a fight valid for the lightweight belt, José Aldo Once again, he saw his plans to get a rematch against the Irishman fall apart – at least for now. The Brazilian, however, used social media to intimidate his rival, and assured that he will fight Conor again, regardless of the situation.

“It is what it is, but make no mistake. I WILL see you again. Regardless of weight category or belt,” wrote Aldo.

The rivalry between Aldo and McGregor had its first chapter written at UFC 194, on December 12, 2015, when the Irishman knocked out the Brazilian in just 13 seconds and became UFC featherweight champion. Since then, Conor has had two fights, but none in the weight range in which he holds the belt (up to 66kg): he faced Nate diaz on two occasions, both at welterweight (up to 77kg).

In the first, at UFC 196, in March, he was submitted in the second round, but won the rematch by majority decision of the judges at UFC 202, in August. Aldo, in turn, fought only once, when he defeated Frankie Edgar by unanimous decision at UFC 200 and won the linear featherweight belt. There is still no prediction of when Manauara's next fight will be.
