Cyborg Evangelist faces Paul Daley at Strikeforce
The Brazilian Cyborg Evangelist He already has a date and opponent set for his return to action. Coming from defeat to Nick Diaz, in the fight for the Strikeforce welterweight belt, the athlete from Mato Grosso will face another beast: the Englishman Paul Daley. The duel is confirmed on the main card of Strikeforce, an event scheduled to take place on July 30th, in Illinois, in the United States.
Known for his aggressive style, Daley arrived at Strikeforce in April this year, and just like Cyborg, he faced the champion Nick Diaz. But after an electrifying fight, the English fighter ended up being knocked out at the end of the first round. The Brit was happy with the choice of his opponent and promised to knock out the Brazilian.
“I'm happy to fight again. It's a big fight. For those who haven't seen the fight between Melvin Manhoef and Cyborg, watch it and expect the same outcome. He will be knocked out”, promised the Englishman, in an interview with the North American website MMA Weekly.
Cyborg, who was tipped to face the Belgian Tarec saffiedine, will try to resume the welterweight title race, as the current champion, Nick Diaz, abandoned the belt to face Georges St Pierre in the UFC.
Besides Cyborg Evangelist, the Strikeforce fight program has another Brazilian confirmed on the card: Roger gracie will face former champion Muhammed “King mo” Lawal. Check out the show card so far below:
