Henderson and Jones would face each other in September 2012, in what would be the main fight of UFC 151. However, “Hendo” suffered an injury and was unable to participate in the fight, and the event was later cancelled. The North American, the oldest active UFC athlete, believes that the occasion would have been a good opportunity to test his skills.

“I have only one [regret], which is Jon Jones. I trained to fight him, I was ready, but I got injured and didn't have the chance to test myself against him. It would have been a fun time to see how I would fare against Jon Jones. And he has improved even more since that time. He made some mistakes, but he is still, without a doubt, the best pound-for-pound guy there is,” he said, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

In his almost 20-year career, Henderson has faced names like Anderson Silva, Vitor belfort, Wanderlei Silva, Mauritius Shogun, Fedor Emelianenko, Daniel Cormier, Ricardo arona, Rodrigo Minotauro, Rogério Minotouro, Quinton Rampage Jackson, between others. On October 8th, the veteran will try to win the UFC middleweight belt against Michael Bisping.
