The Brazilian Vagner-Rocha was called up today (18) to make his UFC debut. The featherweight will be in action at UFC 131 as he replaces the injured Mac Danzig on the main card of the show, where he will face the American Donald Cerrone this June 11th in Canada.
Rocha has a record with six wins and just one defeat. Black belt under Pablo Popovitch, the athlete had stints at Strikeforce and Bellator, having won four fights via submission in the first round during his career. Rocha is coming off a victory over Jacob Clark via submission (armbar) at MFA – New Generation 5, which took place on the 7th in the United States.
In turn, Cerrone is a former champion of the now-defunct WEC and will fight for the second time in the UFC since the merger between the organizations. The North American debuted with victory in Ultimate by submitting Englishman Paul Kelly with a rear naked choke at UFC 126, held in February this year.
The main attraction of UFC 131 will be the confrontation between the Brazilian Junior Gypsy and the North American Shane carwin, who will face each other to determine the next challenger for the event's heavyweight belt. Check out the full UFC 131 card below:
