Jon Jones reveals he can defend his belt against Lyoto Machida

UFC light heavyweight champion, the American Jon Jones was scheduled to face Rashad evans at UFC 133, an event scheduled for August 6th, but an injury to the belt holder's finger postponed the duel. With that, Jon was replaced by the undefeated Phil Davis at the show to be held in Philadelphia. Now, after undergoing several tests, Jones has revealed that he will not need to undergo a surgical process and can anticipate his return to the octagon.

“Dana White (UFC president) is telling me to face the winner of Davis and Rashad, but that will take a long time,” said Jones, in an interview with MMA Canada. Greg Jackson's pupil also revealed that he can defend his reign against the Brazilian Lyoto Machida. “Maybe I’ll fight (Lyoto) Machida or Rampage (Jackson)”, he added.

Among Jones' possible opponents, Quinton Rampage Jackson, which comes from triumph over Lyoto Machida at UFC 123, he is scheduled to face Matt Hamill, at UFC 130, an event that takes place on May 28th, in Las Vegas. Lyoto, in his last appearance, knocked out the legend Randy Couture at UFC 129, an event held on April 30, in Toronto, Canada.
