or thought of Fabricio Werdum It's just one thing: regaining the UFC heavyweight belt. To do so, he knows he will have to leave a good impression in his rematch against Travis Browne at UFC 203, an event that will take place this Saturday (10) at UFC 203, in Cleveland, in the United States. According to the gaucho, a 'spectacular victory' against Browne will once again give him the status of challenger for the category title.

“I need this victory. It's important for my goal of fighting for the title again. I deserved an immediate rematch since I was coming off a six-fight win streak, but I knew the UFC wouldn't give it to me. Winning this fight, I deserve it. I'm going to do everything I can to put on a spectacular fight and get another chance to fight for the title”, said the former champion to the North American website 'MMA Fighting'.

Werdum made a point of highlighting that despite his confidence, he knows that the duel will not be easy. Not even the fact of having already beaten the Hawaiian makes the Brazilian relax. The first time they met, Fabrício dominated his rival and emerged victorious by unanimous decision from the judges, in April 2014.

“It's not an easy fight just because I defeated him before. I can't underestimate Travis Browne. He is also coming off a defeat, so he wants this victory to move forward. I'm sure a win will put me in direct contention for the title. That's not the case for him (Browne), but he definitely wants to win”, said the Brazilian.

Asked about his prediction for the winner of the fight between Stipe Miocic e alistair overeem, Werdum bet on the Dutchman, but made one caveat: if he comes in scared, he will end up being knocked out by Miocic. “If Overeem performs like he did against 'Cigano' (Junior dos Santos), fighting intelligently and with a good strategy, I think he'll win. But if he appears scared, as has happened in the past – you can see it on his face and the way he fights – I believe he will be knocked out by the Stipe Miocic. If he uses his kickboxing and MMA experience, he will win this fight,” he concluded.
