The Brazilian Rafael dos Anjos will be back in the UFC on July 2nd. The tough guy is scheduled for UFC 132, where he will face the Australian George Sotyropoulos in the edition that will be based in the city of Las Vegas. Originally, the Australian would fight against the North American Evan dunhamHowever, Dunham was injured during his training and is out of action.
After winning three consecutive victories in his career, Rafael was defeated by the American Clay Cuida at UFC 117. At the time, the Brazilian suffered a jaw injury that made it impossible for him to continue in the fight, which resulted in his defeat via technical submission. It is worth noting that seven of the 14 victories that Rafael has on his record were obtained by submission.
Sotiropoulos was considered as a possible challenger for the lightweight belt after winning his first seven fights in the UFC. But the Australian's undefeated streak came to an end in the 127th edition of the organization, where the athlete was defeated by German Dennis Siver by unanimous decision from the judges.
UFC 132 will have as its main attraction the bantamweight title fight, where the champion Dominick Cruz will face the challenger Urijah faber in his first title defense in Ultimate. Besides Rafael dos Anjos, this edition of the event will also feature another green-yellow representative. Its about Wanderlei Silva, who will fight against the North American Chris Leben after a series of provocations from both sides. Check out the UFC 132 card below:
