Many MMA fans around the world were impressed by the actions in the octagon during the rematch between Conor McGregor e Nate diaz, which headlined UFC 202 on August 20th. However, there were those who did not like the fight: this is the case of Rafael dos Anjos, former lightweight champion of the organization.

For the Brazilian, McGregor and Diaz did not have a technically interesting fight. “I think people who watched MMA for the first time that day were impressed. I just saw two sloppy guys from the second round onwards. The fight was all sloppy, and I don't think it was one of the best of all time. The first round was good: Conor dropped Nate a few times, but after that I didn't see anything that made me think it was an exciting fight. I didn't see it that way. I’ve seen better fights before”, he analyzed, in an interview with “The MMA Hour” podcast.

The duel lasted five rounds and McGregor won with a majority decision from the judges. Thus, the rivalry between the two is tied: at UFC 196, in March, Diaz agreed to face McGregor at the last minute, replacing Dos Anjos, and won by submission in the second round.
