Couture wants retirement after fight against Lyoto

Randy Couture

Randy Couture confirmed that he is about to hang up his gloves and end his career as a professional MMA fighter. The North American will play against the Brazilian Lyoto Machida, next Saturday, his last appearance in the UFC. Couture denied the rumors and assured that he will not accept any deal aimed at extending his career, even if president Dana White tries.

PUBLICITY:

“Will they offer me a 10-fight deal? I don't know. I’ve done everything for this sport for 14 years, I think it’s finally time to move on,” Couture told MMA Fix. Randy claims that not even a possible title fight will make him rethink his career.

PUBLICITY:

“None of that matters to me, I’m not going back. There are several guys much younger than me who are eager to win titles or defend their belts. Jones is the perfect example. I don’t see this battle in the future for me,” he added.

PUBLICITY:

If Randy Couture defeats Lyoto Machida, at UFC 129, an event scheduled to take place in Toronto, will be his fourth consecutive victory, something that has not occurred since 2001 in his career.
