featherweight champion, Conor McGregor recently left open the possibility of taking advantage of new professional opportunities outside the UFC. The Irishman has even been fueling rumors about a boxing fight against Floyd Mayweather. However, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, another prominent name in the noble art, was willing to face McGregor.
Alvarez, champion by the World Boxing Council, accepted without any problems the possibility of dueling with the Irishman. “If he wants to try boxing, then we can do that whenever he wants. If he wants to come to this part of the world and fight, he will see that boxing is not as easy as he thinks”, said the Mexican, in an interview with the “FightHub” channel.
At 26 years of age, “Canelo” has a professional record of 47 wins, one loss and one draw. Interestingly, his only negative result was against Mayweather, in September 2013.
