Former UFC welterweight champion, Georges St Pierre countered the president of the main MMA organization on the planet, Dana White, and insisted that he still has the desire to return to being the number one athlete in his category.

Since retiring from fighting in 2013, the Canadian has been flirting with a possible return to the Octagon. However, White has downplayed the possibility and has stated several times that he sees no desire in GSP to be competitive again.

In an interview with the program “UFC Tonight”, on the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”, St. Pierre categorically refuted his former boss's statements. “He doesn’t know anything about me. I'm a smart guy. I'm not the kind of guy who goes in there and signs anything. I'm a smart person. But I will say this: Dana, let me fight just once and you will see in the first minute of the fight that you are wrong. Let me fight with Tyron woodley [current welterweight champion] and then you'll see if I want to be champion again. I understand his side, I'm not mad at him. He does what's best for his interests, and I do what's best for mine. When this is all over, we'll probably be friends. But now it's a game. He does his thing, I do mine”, he commented.

Despite his desire to fight again, St. Pierre revealed that he still needs to reach an agreement with the UFC. "I want to go back. They know my conditions, and, believe me, I am being very reasonable. We are trying. My manager tried to contact them, but it's been difficult to reach them. I think they will get back to me soon. He had taken. Let’s see,” he added.
