The Brazilian Vitor belfort will be back in the UFC on August 6th, the date on which the 133rd edition of the event will be held. In his first confrontation after losing the middleweight title fight to Anderson Silva (remember here), the fighter will face the Japanese Yoshihiro akiyama on the main card of the show based in the city of Philadelphia, United States.
Before the setback against Anderson, Belfort had accumulated five consecutive victories in his career. On his return to the UFC after four years fighting in different organizations, such as PRIDE and Cage Rage, the Rio native needed just three minutes to knock out the North American Rich Franklin at UFC 103, which took place in September 2009.
Like the Brazilian, Akiyama is also coming off a defeat in Ultimate. In a confrontation valid for UFC 120, which took place last October, the Japanese was defeated by the Englishman Michael Bisping in the unanimous decision of the judges. Despite being defeated in two of his three fights as a UFC fighter, Akiyama won the best fight of the night award every time he was in action at the event.
In addition to Belfort, UFC 133 also has another Brazilian on its card. The black belt Rafael Sapo will measure forces with the Japanese Riki Fukuda looking for his first victory in the organization. Check out the UFC 133 card so far below:
Vitor belfort x Yoshihiro Akiyama
Jorge Rivera x Alessio Sakara
Michael McDonald x Nick Pace
Brian Ebersole x Dennis Hallman
Rafael Sapo x Riki Fukuda
