Coming off two good victories in Ultimate, the lightweight Edson Barboza is another Brazilian athlete confirmed for UFC Rio, an event scheduled to take place on August 27th, at the HSBC Arena, in the capital of Rio. Barboza will measure forces against the Englishman ross pearson, winner of the ninth edition of The Ultimate Fighter, the UFC reality show.
Edson will try to defend his eight-fight unbeaten record. The Brazilian athlete is coming off a triumph over Anthony Njokuani at UFC 128, held in March. Pearson is on a run of five wins in his last six appearances. The British athlete is also coming off a victory: over North American Spencer Fisher at UFC 127, which took place in February.
UFC Rio, which also bears the name UFC 134, has, in addition to Edson Barboza, four more Brazilians confirmed on the show. Check out the fights already scheduled for the event below:
