Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos already has plans to return to the octagons. Just over a month after suffering a skull fracture caused by an Englishman's knee Michael Page at Bellator 158, in July (16), the Brazilian spoke to the North American website “MMA Fighting” about his recovery and his desire to fight again this year.
“I'm thinking about returning to training at the beginning of September and fighting in December. This is my plan. But before making any decisions, I will listen to what the doctors have to say. I have an appointment with the doctor next week to find out if he really clears me to train again, but I'm feeling super good,” said Cyborg,
According to the fighter, his quick recovery surprised even the doctors, who were impressed with the evolution shown post-surgery. At 39 years old, the veteran says: “I had a great recovery. This time away was super important for me. I was so busy doing other things that I didn't even notice how quickly the month went by. It was very uncomfortable three or four days after the surgery, but afterwards I practically rested.”
Cyborg has three appearances in Bellator, with two losses and one victory. In total, there are 21 triumphs and 18 setbacks as a professional fighter.
