It's no secret that Jon Jones, former UFC champion, has been facing several problems with North American justice in recent years. This time, the fighter may be in the dock for an unusual reason: a fan sued him for leaving the main fight of UFC 200, in July, on the eve of it.

Jones would headline the historic card in a fight that would mark the rematch against Daniel Cormier, valid for the unified light heavyweight belt. A few days before, however, “Bones” was removed from the event for having been caught in an anti-doping test carried out the previous month.

A fan, identified as Sean Slattery, felt aggrieved by what happened and filed a lawsuit in San Diego Court (USA), on the 19th. He claimed to have bought tickets with the sole intention of watching Jones' fight, so that The fighter’s attitude towards ingesting prohibited substances resulted in “economic and non-economic” losses.

With the positive test, Jones was temporarily suspended and had his interim light heavyweight belt stripped. However, the fighter himself revealed that he has “good news” regarding the case and is optimistic about receiving a reduced punishment.
