UFC president Dana White revealed that the organization may land in a new venue in the future. Riding the wave of lightweight success Khabib Nurmagomedov, Ultimate is considering holding its first event in Russia, headlined by the presence of the star.

Nurmagomedov, 27, is undefeated in professional MMA, with 23 wins in 23 fights. The Russian is close to competing for the belt in the under-70 kg division, which could further boost his popularity and generate greater appeal for an event in Russia.

In an interview with the “UFC Unfiltered” podcast, White confirmed that the possibility is being studied by the UFC. “Let me give Khabib a treat. He's been impressing me and I haven't given him any feedback, but obviously Khabib in Russia wouldn't be a bad idea. We are thinking about the possibility of going to Russia, with Khabib”, said the director.

If the plan gets off the ground, this would not happen in 2016. The organization has already released its complete schedule for the end of the year, which does not include an event in Russia.
