Strikeforce president guarantees Fedor's return in June

Coming from two consecutive defeats, the last being to Brazilian Antônio Pezão in the first phase of the Strikeforce GP, Fedor Emelianenko considered retirement as a professional fighter. But after a few days, the Russian, considered the greatest heavyweight of all time, backed down and assured that he would return to competition. Now, Strikeforce president Scott Coker has stated that Fedor should be in action in June and his opponent will be announced in the coming days.

Through an official statement, the director assured that Emelianenko will face a qualified opponent and his name will be announced within a maximum of 10 days. The top hat, however, did not say whether the fight will be linked to the heavyweight tournament hosted by the organization.

At the beginning of March, Fedor, who always prepared in Russian territory, traveled to the Netherlands for a season of kickboxing training.
