The UFC announced last Friday (19), in a press conference to promote UFC 204, scheduled for October 8th, in Manchester (ING), that Brazil will host an event on November 19th, still without a city -defined headquarters. This will be the third card held by the organization in Brazil in 2016, which already hosted the historic UFC 198, on May 14, in Curitiba, and will see UFC Fight Night: Cyborg vs. Lansberg, in Brasília, on September 24th.

Since 2012, this will be the year with the lowest number of shows in Brazil, only three in total. In 2013 and 2014, for example, the country hosted no less than 14 events (seven each year). Last year, the UFC arrived on Brazilian soil on five occasions, two more than in 2016. The reduced number of events is in line with the policy adopted by Giovani Decker, general director of the UFC in Brazil, which aims for less quantity and more quality.
Interestingly, also on November 19th, Ultimate will hold another tournament in Belfast, Northern Ireland. This has not happened since October 4, 2014, when the UFC promoted two tournaments less than 24 hours apart – on that occasion, Sweden and Canada were the stages. It is worth noting that the event in Brazil will take place one week after the highly anticipated UFC in New York (USA), which will mark the brand's debut in the most populous city in the United States. The last attraction of the year will be in Las Vegas, on December 30th.
