Conor McGregor analyzed in a curious way the performance of Nate diaz at UFC 196, in March, when the American beat him via submission in the second round. The Irishman compared his tormentor's performance to the episode of the cartoon “The Simpsons”, in which the head of the family, Homer, ventures out as a boxer.

In the cartoon in question, shown in 1996, Homer wins several boxing matches with the same tactic: beating his opponents until they get tired, and then winning the fights. McGregor believes Diaz adopted the same strategy in the first fight between the two.

“Have you ever seen that Simpsons episode where Homer boxed? He just stands there in the ring, taking punches to the head. Bum Bum bum. And when the guy can't punch him anymore, Homer pushes him and the guy falls. It was similar, that's how Nate was in that fight. He was like Homer Simpson. He took hits until the moment I couldn't hit him anymore. And he's not going to change for this fight: he's going to keep taking blows, hoping that I can't do any more. But this time, I'm going to keep hitting him in the face. I’m looking forward to it,” said McGregor, in a press conference reproduced by the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

McGregor and Diaz will rematch this Saturday (20), in the main fight of UFC 202. The fight, which will be in the welterweight category, will take place at the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas (USA).
