Considered one of the biggest names in MMA today, Jon Jones was optimistic that he could return to fighting soon. The American, provisionally suspended after being caught in an anti-doping test, said he had “good news”, which could make his return to the Octagon happen sooner than expected.

Jones was scheduled to headline UFC 200 last month, but was cut from the show in the run-up to it. He was caught in a surprise drug test using estrogen blockers, which could have earned him a two-year ban. However, “Bones” believes he will be able to return to fighting soon.

“I'm sure you're curious to know how my issue with USADA [United States Anti-Doping Agency] is going. Obviously I can't go into details because it's still in progress, but I can say that we have a lot of good news and I hope to return to the octagon soon”, declared the fighter, in a message recorded on his Instagram account.

Jones hasn't fought since April of this year, when he crashed Ovince St Preux to win the interim light heavyweight belt. The definitive trial of his doping case has not yet been scheduled, and until then, the fighter will not be able to compete.
