Earthquakes in Japan knock Akiyama out of UFC 128

the japanese Yoshihiro akiyama was scheduled to face the North American Nate marquardt at UFC 128, an event that takes place on March 19, in Newark, in the United States. However, due to the series of earthquakes that haunted Japan this weekend, the Japanese black belt asked to withdraw from the fight.

With Akiyama's departure, the Ultimate organization acted quickly and called up the North American Dan Miller to replace him on the UFC 128 fight program. Dan, brother of Jim Miller, who also fights at the event, has an MMA record of 13 wins and four losses. In his last appearance he defeated Joe Doerksen at UFC 124, held in December last year. Marquardt is now seeking rehabilitation after the setback suffered by Yushin Okami at UFC 122, held in November 2010.
