New UFC welterweight champion, Tyron woodley he may be closer to getting the fight he wants. The North American revealed that Ultimate is already studying its first title defense against Georges St Pierre, which would happen at the organization's debut in New York.
Woodley asked for the fight shortly after the knockout Robbie Lawler and win the title, last Saturday (July 30), in the main fight of UFC 201. GSP then showed interest in accepting the title fight, which would mark his return to the octagon after a long time away.
The first edition of the UFC in New York will be on November 12th, at the Madison Square Garden gym. The UFC has not yet confirmed any fights for the card, although many current big names have already expressed their desire to compete.
Woodley, 34, has a professional record of 16 wins and three losses. GSP, champion of the category between 2006 and 2007 and 2009 and 2013, accumulated 25 triumphs and two setbacks.
