In the middle of Carnival Saturday, Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante will defend the Stirkeforce light heavyweight belt for the first time. The Brazilian will face the American veteran Dan Henderson, a well-known rival of Brazilians for more than ten years. The fight will be the main attraction of Strikeforce, which takes place in the city of Columbus, Ohio, in the United States.

Coming off a victory over the North American King mo Lawal, in the duel valid for the belt, Feijão does not hide his respect for his opponent, but hopes to leave the octagon victorious.

“I will defend my belt. I'm going to fight for him, but imagining it's just any fight, because I'm not going to put this weight on my shoulders. When you have a big challenge, you train more and more. Henderson is a great challenge”, said Feijão at the press conference.

Henderson, who has important achievements such as the Pride belts (in two categories, UFC and Rings), revealed that winning another title in his career is his main objective.

PUBLICITY:

“Obviously, I wouldn't be here if winning a world title wasn't one of my goals. But the challenge of facing someone like Feijão is exciting. He's big, he's tough and he's strong. I’ll love having this belt, but the reason I fight is the challenge.”

The fight program also features another Brazilian in action: Jorge Gurgel, appearing on the preliminary card, will face North American Billy Vaughan
