Valentina Shevchenko dreams big after achieving the most important victory of his career in the Octagon. The fighter, born in Kyrgyzstan and based in Peru, hopes to challenge the champion of the women's bantamweight division, Amanda nunes, and clean up his only defeat in the UFC.
Last Saturday (23), Valentina got the better of the former champion Holly holm in the judges' decision. With a victory of this caliber on her record, the athlete already sees herself ready to challenge for the belt, although she considers that the Brazilian is afraid to face her.
“Amanda is a good fighter. She has good striking and a good ground game, and, of course, I want a rematch with her for the belt. But she's definitely scared. I'm ready to fight five rounds and I'll take whoever I need next. But I think she's scared,” said Shevchenko, at a post-fight press conference.
Amanda and Valentina faced each other at UFC 196, in early March 2016. The Brazilian dominated the first two rounds of the fight, and, in the third, Shevchenko came out on top – at least in the eyes of the judges, who gave the unanimous decision victory to Amanda.
