At 45 years of age, Dan Henderson must have a great fight ahead, against Michael Bisping, for the UFC middleweight belt. However, even if he emerges with victory and wins the unprecedented title, the veteran guarantees that it would be his farewell to professional MMA.

“That's my plan. Win or lose, I'm mentally ready to retire. My body could still last another two or three years, but I think it was enough. I'm ready to start taking it easier, but still connected to MMA, doing something that's different from fighting,” said Henderson, who has been fighting professionally since 1997, in an interview with the “Talking Brawls” podcast.
If made official, the fight between Henderson and Bisping would be a rematch. The two faced each other for the first time in July 2009, at the historic UFC 100, when the American won with an overwhelming knockout. “I'm sure he wants to get back at me, but he'll never get it back with this one. I think that knockout is already marked in history as one of the favorites, but I hope to add one more to that list… I plan to do everything in my power to beat him again”, he guaranteed.
Henderson last fought in early June, at UFC 199, when he knocked out Hector Lombard. At the same event, Bisping hit Luke Rockhold to win the title. According to information from the champion, the fight should take place in October, in Manchester, England.
