The events of recent weeks have left the UFC women's bantamweight division with a very open scenario. The new division champion, Amanda nunes, proposed a fight that could indicate the next challenger for the title: Valentina Shevchenko x Julianna Pena.

UFC 200, on July 9th, featured two important fights for the category. First, Peña hit Zingano cat in the unanimous decision of the judges; shortly after, Amanda finished Miesha Tate to become champion. Last Saturday (23), Shevchenko beat the former champion Holly holm to grow even more among the roosters.

Precisely due to the lack of an obvious challenger for the title, Amanda suggested that the UFC match the duel between Peña and Shevchenko. “I won the first fight against Valentina with a unanimous decision. If I fight her again, I will beat her again, this time very cleanly. I think she needs to prove herself a little more. I think that Julianna Pena x Valentina Shevchenko [it would be a good fight]. I face the winner”, wrote the champion on her Twitter account.

Amanda defeated Shevchenko in her last fight before fighting for the belt, in March, at UFC 196. At the time, the Brazilian dictated the actions of the fight to get the best of the judges' scores.
