Retired from MMA since 2014, Chael Sonnen left open the possibility of returning to competition for the UFC. The American asked to be reinstated in Ultimate's anti-doping policy and has already undergone two exams from USADA, the United States Anti-Doping Agency.

The rules of the partnership between the UFC and USADA determine that retired athletes who wish to return to competition must undergo four mandatory months of testing before being released to fight. However, Sonnen does not trust that he will pass the exams he has already taken.
