“My manager called me saying that Demetrious had been injured and knew he would be out for at least four months. I was very sad to know. The fight was three weeks away. I was even sadder because we won't fight him anymore. He will be out of action for at least four months and will still face the TUF 24 champion,” he revealed.

Since moving down from the bantamweight division to the flyweight division, Wilson has recorded three wins in his last four fights. The Brazilian occupies eighth place in the division's rankings and ended up receiving the opportunity to fight for the belt after Demetrious defeated all the names above Reis in the rankings.
