UFC president Dana White assured that the former champion Ronda Rousey will have the right to fight for the women's bantamweight belt immediately as soon as she decides to return to the Octagon.

Even though the women's 61 kg division is quite busy, with the belt changing hands three times in just over a semester, White assured that Ronda will not need to fight another fight before trying to regain the title. The only question that remains is when she will return to fighting.

“Ronda will make that decision. I would like to see her fight this year, but it could be early next year as well. Whoever the champion is, Ronda will fight [for the belt]”, explained the director, in conversation with the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”.

However, White admits that he is already planning the category's scenario if Ronda's return to fighting doesn't happen soon. “If Ronda returns, she will fight for the title. Let's see what happens to Holly holm in your next fight. There are only good things,” she said, referring to former champion Holm’s fight against Valentina Shevchenko, on the 23th of July.

Ronda lost the belt to Holm in November last year, by knockout. The new champion was dethroned in her first defense, to Miesha Tate, in March. Tate, in turn, fell last Saturday (9), after being submitted by the Brazilian Amanda nunes still in the first round.
