Jon Jones stopped earning a multimillion-dollar salary after being removed at the last minute from the historic UFC 200 card, an event held last Saturday (9), in Las Vegas (USA). The fighter's manager, Malki Kawa, said that the interim light heavyweight champion's payment to face Daniel Cormier would be in the tens of millions of dollars.

Jones was pulled from UFC 200 on Thursday, two days before the show. The athlete was caught in a surprise anti-doping test and was not allowed to fight, being replaced by Anderson Silva. The substances found in his examination have not been officially disclosed.

In an interview with the podcast “The MMA Hour”, Kawa stated that his athlete would be the highest paid at UFC 200. “We are talking about an eight-figure payment. Eight digits. Conor [McGregor] can say what he wants, but Jon is by far the highest-paid athlete in the UFC. We saw the numbers from that night, from Brock Lesnar to the bottom of the card, and Jones would win more than all that. But we lost that payment, including me. I wouldn't get an eight-figure payday, but it would be a percentage of it. The team would also earn a percentage of this,” he said.

Just last week, Jones' team asked for a copy of the test, which also came back positive. Thus, the athlete must go through a trial, where his punishment will be stipulated.
