Feijão comments on training to face Hendo at Strikeforce

Rafael Feijão will defend, on March 5th, the Strikeforce light heavyweight belt against the veteran of Dan Henderson. But the Brazilian athlete is not worried about the responsibility of putting his title on the line for the first time.

“I will defend my belt. I'm going to fight for him, but imagining it's just any fight, because I'm not going to put this weight on my shoulders”, said the Brazilian, in an interview with “USA Today”. Feijão, who is on a three-fight winning streak, made a point of praising his next opponent, whose main achievements are the Pride belts, in two categories, and the UFC.

“I'm training more in stand-up fighting because his skills (Dan Henderson) in striking are greater than those of King mo (Feijão's last opponent, when he won the title). Henderson is a tough guy, has a heavy hand and is very experienced,” said the Brazilian.

Rafael Feijão, who is a training partner of Rodrigo Minotauro e Anderson Silva, revealed that his teammates, who have already faced and beaten Henderson, showed the way to his title defense.

 

“They gave me everything. They thought about the strategy for my training and my actions for combat. On the day of the fight, everything ends well,” she concluded.
