There was no shortage of action on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night 90, an event held this Thursday (7), in Las Vegas, in the United States. The Brazilian fighters who participated in the first fights of the night came away with positive results, including beautiful submissions and a cinematic knockout.

Alberto Mina, Peter Munhoz, Gilbert Durinho e Vincent Luque They came away with a resounding victory. Miná took down the veteran Mike pyle with a beautiful flying knee in the second round, while the other Brazilian winners obtained quick submissions.

Luque has a fair performance and submits Herrera

The first fight of the night featured Brazil's first participation (and first victory) in the octagon. Vincent Luque he dominated the action against Alvaro Herrera and obtained a beautiful submission in the second round.

Luque's strategy was clear from the beginning of the fight: feign striking and take the fight to the ground. This worked in the first round, when he managed to take Herrera down and work on his positions. In the second period this happened again, and Luque took advantage of his rival's hesitation to lock him in.

Thus, Luque records his ninth victory in professional MMA, with five defeats and a draw. It was his third fight in the octagon, with two positive results and one setback.

TUF Brazil champion takes big upset and loses

Champion of the fourth season of TUF Brazil, last year, Reginaldo Vieira He suffered his first defeat in the octagon when he was submitted by Marco Beltran in the second round.

After a tepid first round, actions heated up in the second period. Reginaldo landed good blows on the Mexican and ended up taking him down, but ended up taking an incredible turn: first, Beltran hit a pedal stroke and took down the Brazilian. Then, Vieira tried to react by looking for the heel, but gave Beltran an opening to get to his back. In a favorable position, the Mexican secured a rear naked choke and finished the fight.

This was Reginaldo's first fight since winning TUF Brasil, in August 2015, against Dileno Lopes. The Mexican scored his third victory in three fights in the octagon.

After suffering his first defeat in professional MMA, Gilbert Durinho made a beautiful comeback with a victory in the first round at UFC Fight Night 90.

Facing Lukasz Sajewski, the Brazilian found it somewhat difficult to find his feet in the opening minutes. The Pole kept the fight standing and connected with good blows, including a straight right that made the Brazilian feel it. However, the jiu-jitsu specialist used his striking to pave the way for victory: Durinho landed a knee and a kick, took the fight to the ground and finished with just a few seconds left before the end of the first round.

The Brazilian, who had lost to Rashid Magomedov in São Paulo, in November last year, is recovering from the setback. Sajewski, who was coming off a defeat, finds himself in a difficult situation in the organization.

Felipe Sertanejo He achieved his second consecutive victory since moving down to bantamweight, with a submission against Jerrod Sanders in the second round.

The Brazilian encountered difficulties in the initial moments of the fight, as, in the opening minutes, Sanders escaped a submission attempt from Sertanejo and fell on top. The North American worked in a position of superiority and got to ride, but made little progress.

In the second round, Sertanejo was taken down and successfully took advantage of a mistake from Sanders. The Chute Boxe São Paulo athlete got an armbar from below and finished the fight.

The fifth fight of the night was short-lived, but there was no shortage of action. In the end, better for Peter Munhoz, who submitted Rusell Doane in an incredible fight.

Doane started the duel at an intense pace, landing good kicks and a cross to the Brazilian's face. The fight remained striking at first, and the North American had a clear advantage. However, Munhoz took the fight to the ground and applied a beautiful trap to his rival, which resulted in a well-aimed guillotine that ended the action.

The result represents an important recovery for the Brazilian, who had come from a no-contest (found as a result of doping) and a defeat. Doane, on the other hand, gets complicated with three consecutive setbacks.

TUF Brazil finalist loses in balanced duel

Dileno Lopes, finalist of TUF Brasil 4, had a good time in the fight against Anthony Birchak, but ended up defeated in the first fight that reached the judges' decision of the night.

The duel was marked by the aggressiveness of both in the octagon, with both athletes appearing close to obtaining victory. In the first round, Dileno spent a good part of it on Birchak's back, looking for the submission, and in the following period, Dileno was almost knocked out in the middle of a frank exchange.

However, the fight lasted all 15 minutes in regulation time. In the end, better for Birchak, who prevailed in a split decision. It was Dileno's first fight since he lost to Reginaldo Vieira in the TUF final; Birchak is now recovering from the devastating knockout he suffered from Thomas almeida in November, in São Paulo.

Miná applies a knockout and remains undefeated

Alberto Miná shined in the last fight of the preliminary card by punishing and knocking out the veteran Mike pyle with a beautiful flying knee in the second round.

The Brazilian came close to the knockout in the first round, when he applied a knockdown on the veteran opponent and went all out. The North American, however, survived hard, fighting until the bell sounded.

In the second round, however, came the final blow. Miná took advantage of a kick from Pyle to grab his opponent's leg, unbalance him, and amended it with a beautiful flying knee. Pyle fell bewildered, and it only took a few more punches for the referee to stop the action.

Thus, Miná reached 13 victories in 13 fights in professional MMA. Pyle is complicated by his fourth defeat in his six most recent fights.
