“Now that I am suspended, I will only be available to fight again in the UFC in April 2018. In addition to this problem, they (UFC) have also brought me to a point where I will not even be able to do TV broadcasts. Not that I definitely was, but I had been asking to get into this broadcast rotation since the WEC. Therefore, now I would like to be released by the UFC so I can continue my career in other 'avenues'”, he stated “After having become aware of this situation three weeks ago and having looked at my financial savings, taking into account the cost that takes to raise my children, I realized that I have to make money. I am prevented from fighting or doing any commentary work on TV. I know that they are very busy, that there are a lot of people to be cut, so I am being very patient as a person to get some time with them and discuss this problem”, he added.

At 37, Frank mir arrived in Dana White's organization at UFC 34 in 2001. Since then, the athlete who has 18 wins and 11 losses in his career has added some records to his resume, such as the most victories in the UFC heavyweight category (13) , in addition to notable victories over names like Brock Lesnar, Mirko Cro Cop and two triumphs over Rodrigo Minotauro.
