According to the fighter's father, Tony McGregor, the UFC featherweight champion recently surprised his family members by giving them all luxury cars. “He came back from a trip from the United States and showed up with a row of BMW 5 Series cars. He got out of the car in front and I imagined it was a convoy of his team. He asked me to get in the car and asked if I liked it. I said that I loved it, and he replied: 'That's good, because it's yours'. He bought a car like that for each of the family, which was really cool,” he said, in an interview with the “Irish Independent” newspaper.
According to Tony, McGregor is still the same guy he always was, despite his flamboyant speeches. “It’s phenomenal, because he hasn’t changed. Conor has a very generous nature, which he inherited from his mother, and we realize that we are very lucky,” he acknowledged.
According to a survey recently carried out by “Forbes” magazine, McGregor would have, in 2015 alone, received an amount of US$ 22 million (R$ 73,9 million at current exchange rates), of which US$ 18 million was salary, plus US$ 4 million additional income, such as promotional appearances and sponsorships. This would place him as the 85th highest paid athlete on the planet.
