Marreta replaces Brunson and catches Mousasi at UFC 200

Brazilian joins Aldo, Amanda and Assunção and will be the fourth Brazilian representative at the historic July event

Brazil will have an additional representative at the historic UFC 200 event, which takes place on July 9, in Las Vegas (USA). Participant of TUF Brasil 2, Thiago Marreta must replace the injured person Derek Brunson and face Gegard Mousasi in the schedule.

According to the “Combate” channel website, both Marreta and Mousasi have already verbally agreed to the fight, with only the contract to be signed. The fight should be part of the attraction's preliminary card.

Marreta, 32, is enjoying a good moment in the UFC, with consecutive victories over Andy Enz, Steve Bossé, Elias Theodorou and Nate Marquardt. The results placed him in 15th position in the official middleweight ranking (up to 84 kg). Mousasi already hit Thales leites in his last fight and occupies eighth place.

UFC 200 will have a big card, with duels like Jon Jones x Daniel Cormier, Brock Lesnar x Mark Hunt, Miesha Tate x Amanda nunes, José Aldo x Cain Velazquez, TJ Dillashaw x Raphael Assunção, Among others.
