In 2009, Dan Henderson e Michael Bisping they faced each other at UFC 100 and the fight was one of the most memorable of the historic edition, with the North American winning thanks to a knockout that appears in all the clips of MMA's best moments. Now, at 45 years old and about to say goodbye to the sport, Henderson wants a new duel with Bisping and, this time, for the belt, won by the Briton on June 4th.
To achieve his goal, Henderson not only set a date and event for the rematch, he even “did the work” of Ultimate by publishing a poster for the middleweight title fight at UFC 204, which will take place in October and has no defined location yet. This would be the last fight of Hendo's career, win or lose. The veteran's campaign, in fact, gained the support of none other than the official Ultimate commentator Joe Rogan.
Although Henderson is not among the favorites for a title fight at middleweight, the veteran could be favored by a few factors. For example, Bisping has recently stated that he does not want to make his first defense in a rematch against Luke Rockhold, who he beat to win the belt. Furthermore, the Brit has also made a formal request to Ultimate for the fight to take place in Manchester (England), his hometown.
At the time of the first duel between Bisping and Henderson, the two had been coaches on the ninth edition of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter, which pitted athletes from the United States and the United Kingdom against each other. With much provocation from the Briton, Henderson responded with an overwhelming knockout, which was complete with a superman punch in the erased rival.
