Rematch between McGregor and Diaz is made official for UFC 202

Rivals will meet in the octagon again on August 20, in Las Vegas (USA)

After months of soap opera, the rematch between Conor McGregor e Nate diaz has a date set for it to take place. The rivals, who met for the first time in the Octagon last March, will face each other again at UFC 202. The weight category for the clash, however, has not been announced.

The announcement was made during the UFC 199 broadcast in pay-per-view on North American TV. Diaz's submission at UFC 196, in a welterweight fight, marked Diaz's first defeat. Conor McGregor in the Ultimate Octagon. With the announcement, McGregor will leave the featherweight belt without being defended once again. After July 9th, inclusive, the category will have an interim champion, who will emerge from the rematch between Frankie Edgar e José Aldo.

UFC 202 takes place on August 20th, in an arena yet to be defined, in the city of Las Vegas (USA). Ultimate's expectation is that the event will surpass the PPV sales of the first duel between Diaz and McGregor, which was the second most purchased in the organization's history, with more than 1,5 million packages sold.
