The reason for the result review was an error made by central referee Wernei Cardoso. According to the statement released by CABMMA itself, the referee confused the signals made by the fighter and understood a gesture that signaled a finger in the mouth due to a punch with an open hand with Gaúcho's withdrawal, declaring the end of the fight.
