Due to the astonishing success of UFC 193, an event held in November last year that saw UFC's first Ronda Rousey, two Australian cities showed interest in hosting the former champion's return to action: Melbourne and Sydney.

Ronda, considered one of the main sports stars today, faced Holly holm at Etihad Stadium, in Melbourne, an event that recorded the largest audience in UFC history (56 thousand people). According to a local study, the North American's presence at the event contributed to generating US$102 million for the local economy, in addition to 894 temporary jobs.

Precisely for this reason, both cities expressed their interest to the UFC for Ronda's next fight to be held there. The octagon is expected to arrive in the country again in November, although the city has not been defined.

“If Ronda wants to come and fight in Melbourne, she will come and fight in Melbourne. [Her last fight] was an immense success as she has a huge fan base there,” Peter Kloczko, UFC spokesman in Australia, told the “Herald Sun” newspaper.
