UFC champion Miesha admits: 'Ronda will hate me until the day she dies'

The title holder hopes to be able to rematch her rival, but questions the former champion's ability to recover from defeat

The two, declared enemies, have already faced each other twice, once in Strikeforce and once in Ultimate, with two victories for Ronda. However, they currently find themselves in opposite situations: Rousey is coming off a crushing defeat against Holly holm, and Miesha beat her enemy's tormentor, thus winning the belt.

Even though the world has taken several turns with their situation, Miesha recognizes that she will never have affinities with Ronda. “She has her own way of thinking and she will hate me until the day she dies. OK by me. All good. We don’t need to be friends,” she said, in an interview with Joe Rogan’s podcast, the UFC’s official commentator on broadcasts in the United States.

Even though her first title defense is official for July, against the Brazilian Amanda nunes, Miesha admitted that she wants to face her old rival again. “I have Amanda in front of me and I don’t want to underestimate her. But deep down, the fight with Ronda is something I want to happen. She goes through a moment that I've been through several times. I pulled myself together and turned it around. But the question is: will Ronda recover from this? I've been hearing things from her in the press that I wouldn't expect to hear from someone who wants to turn things around”, said the champion.
