Chael Sonnen was certainly the most intense rival of his entire career. Anderson Silva. And, even after having already lost to the Brazilian twice, the loud-mouthed North American is considering returning from retirement and doing a trilogy with his former nemesis, whom he considers “never to have been a difficult fight” for him.

Sonnen and Anderson had a feud surrounded by animosity between 2010 and 2012. In addition to the various provocations outside the octagon, the North American even gave heat to the Brazilian in the two fights they had, but ended up defeated in both.

Precisely for this reason, Sonnen does not rule out seeking a new opportunity with “Spider”. “Anderson was never a difficult fight for me. It was difficult to have my hands raised. That son of a bitch always found a way to win, but I beat that guy. I hit him easily. I've faced 49 men and I've only had three rounds in which I won 10 to 8 – they were all against him [Anderson]. I take my hat off to him because he beat me fair and square. Good for you, Anderson. But it is hard. It would be difficult not to want to get back at him,” said Sonnen, in an interview with “The MMA Hour” podcast.

If he goes ahead with the plan, Sonnen will need to wait a few more months to complete it: he is suspended for doping until July.
