Chael Sonnen He has always been known for his controversial style and strong statements, which intensify the atmosphere with his rivals and make his fights true ratings successes. “I would love to beat Georges up. I tell you this and it is true. I got a call one day and it was the Kenny Florian asking if I wanted to train. I was in Los Angeles and I said yes. He then said: 'Georges is in town. Do you want to train with Georges?'. And I said yes and we went to the gym. We go hard. I think I could have gone even harder, but we worked hard, and I fell behind. And it drove me crazy, man. I went crazy! But I know I could have done better. It was tight, okay. The truth is, I will sell out these arenas faster than anyone else, just like I used to. I'm going to sell out even the t-shirts. I'll sell them faster than anyone else. Look, this is the reality. A comeback fight is a tremendously big fight and you can only have one of those. I'm not coming back. But if I do it, if I'm going to do it, I'll know how to do it,” he concluded.
Coincidentally, Chael Sonnen e Georges St Pierre made their last appearances in Ultimate in the main fights of the same event: UFC 167, which marked the organization's 20th anniversary. In the co-main event, Sonnen was defeated by Rashad evans. In the main attraction of the night, GSP defeated John hendricks and defended the welterweight belt for the last time before relinquishing the title.
