Considered for a long time the highest paid athlete in the world, Floyd Mayweather wants to invest in MMA once and for all. The recently retired boxer wants to manage the careers of fighters in the sport, and declared that he has his eye on none other than Jon Jones, currently number one pound for pound in the world.

Mayweather revealed his plans to the website “ESNews” after being asked about a photo posted by Jones. On the occasion, the interim UFC champion recorded, on his Instagram account, a video conference he held with the former boxer.

“We were talking about business. Jon and I talked about the future of his career,” commented Mayweather. “I'm about to fly to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to meet Jon 'Bones' Jones, the best MMA fighter in the world. I'm working day to day, trying to help fighters grow, not only inside the ring but outside of it”, he added.

Now retired from fighting, Mayweather dedicates himself to his company that manages fighters, “The Money Team”. Jones, in turn, is the interim light heavyweight champion, and will compete for the definitive belt in the category against Daniel Cormier at UFC 200 in July.
