Cyborg should defend Invicta FC belt in July

After debuting in the octagon last Saturday (14) in Curitiba (PR) with an overwhelming knockout over Leslie Smith, Chris Cyborg said she planned to return to the Invicta FC event, of which she is the current featherweight champion, and defended her title once again. And that could happen soon. Cyborg's next title defense is being negotiated for the end of July.

According to president Shannon Knapp, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Junkie”, Cyborg would be in the organization's plans for the Invicta FC 18 card, scheduled for July 29, in California (USA). “I'm working with the date of July 29th. If all parties agree, it will certainly (Chris Cyborg) would do the main fight,” said Knapp.

Last Wednesday (18), the Ultimate organization announced in its official newspaper that it planned to promote the duel between Chris Cyborg e Germain de Randamie for UFC 201, which takes place on July 30th. Cyborg quickly took to social media and denied the possibility of returning to the Octagon immediately and assured that she would like to defend her Invicta FC belt.
