lucas mineiro He achieved an important victory in his most recent fight, against Robert Whiteford, in April, which marked the end of his contract with the UFC. Even so, the featherweight fighter was surprised by the news that he will not have his contract renewed.
Representative of Chute Boxe SP, the Brazilian tried to negotiate with the organization, but was unsuccessful. “My manager was talking to the UFC and said the division is full. Even though I came from a victory, my contract ended and they asked me to achieve a few more victories in the UFC, knockouts, and they would sign me back. I didn’t expect that because I was coming off a victory, but that’s ok”, he declared, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”.
At 27 years of age, Mineiro had a positive record in the organization, with four wins and three defeats. Two of the setbacks, however, came in his three most recent fights, when he fell to Darren Elkins and Mirsad Bektic.
