On the night of this Wednesday (18), just four days after the first fight of Chris Cyborg under the UFC banner, with her technical knockout victory over Leslie Smith in Curitiba (PR), the organization announced, through the official newspaper “UFC Tonight”, the Brazilian's probable return to the Octagon: against the Dutch Germain de Randamie, at UFC 201, in July.

The announcement, however, was quickly denied by Cyborg herself, through a post on social media. “My next fight will be at my weight 145 lbs (65,7 kg). Belt defense at Invicta FC. Married weight only with Ronda Rousey ou Miesha Tate. I'm the 65,7 kg champion, the UFC doesn't have my category, that's okay! But you don't have the right to delete my division… There's no point trying to manipulate my fans, I'll be defending my belt in the next fight! I’ve already proven that I can weigh 140 lbs (63,5kg), I did my part”, wrote Cris on Twitter.

The Brazilian followed up in another post citing the main reason that led her to not have her second UFC fight immediately. “It was very difficult to reach 63,5 kg, I had to train three times a day and I'm making a documentary that will soon be online for you to see. In all the media I had to do for my fight, I couldn't take my belt to show that I'm champion. I was banned,” she assured her.

UFC 201, with or without Chris Cyborg, takes place on July 30th, at Phillips Arena, in Atlanta (USA). In the main fight of the night, Robbie Lawler puts the welterweight belt on the line against Tyron woodley. In the co-main fight, the flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will be challenged by the Brazilian Wilson reis.
