With the belt in tow, the heavyweight arrived in Cleveland just days after knocking out Fabrício Werdum in Curitiba

The newest UFC champion was welcomed with great celebration in his hometown. Stipe Miocic, who won the heavyweight title last Saturday (14), arrived in Cleveland, Ohio (USA), and was duly congratulated by the public who waited for him both at the airport and at his gym.

As soon as he got off the plane, Miocic was greeted by several fans, who also signed autographs. Furthermore, the fighter was welcomed by his mother, to whom he gave a long and emotional hug. Miocic then went to the Strong Style Fight Team gym, where he was also greeted with celebration by his training partners and his fiancée.

Miocic won the heavyweight belt at UFC 198, an event held in Curitiba (PR). In the main fight of the night, the North-American of Croatian descent knocked out Fabricio Werdum with a single, powerful punch to the jaw, in the first round.
